Yoga Every Day

January 6, 2011

If you haven’t heard- for the cool kids- 2011 is about doing yoga every day.

And by yoga we don’t mean necessarily asana (posture), we mean yoga and that means a lot!  Upcoming, I will be posting more often- and often about yoga’s many ways. AND  how it’s really not that easy to practice yoga every day.(even if you are a yoga teacher who practices asana every day… ) So today I will practice yoga by doing an hour and half of asana, three hours of teaching and thinking a lot about postures.

The addition to this the theme for today is Self trust. Trusting that inherently we know what’s best for us. For me to practice this “new self-trust” -I’ve decided to allot sometime between having an idea or thought that requires action and then taking action. So for me to trust myself- I’m going to sit quietly  and listen to make sure. New yoga.

How are you practicing yoga in 2011?

D – I identify with this goal so much. I need to listen to internal cues and trust myself more. I’m working on quieting the analytical/logical mind of mine and tapping into the divinity of my other half. 🙂 How about we support each other?!

I love the 365 yoga. I had a persona intention to do minimum of 3 min. of daily meditation and some yoga. So what a great thing to find a group for the cause!
My personal goal right now includes Ashtanga yoga. I am truly trying to give myself to a full year of discplined practice. I always bounce between styles & methods. So this year I am aiming to do at least Primary series up to where my current teacher has me stopping (supta kurmasana)

This is so true.. this year is all about yoga.. i’m also hoping to practice asana every day, but also slow down and be present in all i do and when i spend time with people.. extending my being present into all things will hopefully a) make me less forgetful and 2) make quality memories with the people i spend time with..

I look forward to hearing more and learning more about your journey and how others carry on with this..

This is the spot on reason why I decided to do 365 yoga…. we all have the answers to what we need within us and I think that by deciding to do 365yoga my intuition was telling me that this would help me listen to myself more…if that makes sense?!
I’m a month and a bit in (I started in Dec) and already I feel such a shift.
So cool to have the support of the other #365yoga crew!
